On Gigs and EPs

I’d like to personally thank everyone who came out to Rancho Relaxo last night to see me and The NASA Jumpsuits jump around and sing stuff.  There were significantly less people I personally knew in the audience than any other gig I’ve played before (in fact, most of the people I knew in attendance were on stage with me) but that doesn’t change the fact that you came.  Also, cheers to the people I didn’t know who were screaming and dancing and having a good time.

VITAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Next Tuesday night, my new EP, The Phoebe EP, comes out and it will be amazing.  I just got the last of the tracks tonight and I’m slightly jealous of myself because I don’t think I can ever be in the place I was when I kicked those rhymes again.  Hopefully it’s not downhill from here though.

So my Tumblr is now enabled to ask me stuff.

Do with that information what you will.  I don’t promise to address every question/request/what-have-you but the good ones will certainly get a shot.  Also, you can ask me to sketch stuff for you, I guess :)

Things I'm Looking Forward to in February.

February is going to be a month of positively gargantuan proportions.  Sure, there are the day-to-day things that sort of excite me about the month (i.e. certain assignments, completed freelance projects, etc.) but I’m fixing to have a month like you won’t believe!  Hit the jump to read why.

Today, there was an earthquake

And it hit my home country of the Cayman Islands at about 9.30am EST.  5.8 magnitude from the fault line in the sea, 38 miles south of my hometown.

Everyone is alright and there was minimal physical damage.  Wish I could say the same for the emotional, though.  I’m pretty shaken up about this and lots of people back home are too.

I’d really appreciate your prayers for the safety of, not just Cayman and Haiti, but the Caribbean as a whole.  We’re celebrated for our natural beauty and pseudo-utopian scenery which often distracts from the fact that we live in such a disaster-prone spot on the planet.

ohyeahpaulchin dot com

I bought it.  It totally had to happen, eventually, and I may have to give it out soon (can’t say why just yet though).  Anyway, not everything is perfectly linked yet but my Tumblr is (as you’ll see by the address bar which reads blog.ohyeahpaulchin.com).

So yeah.  Adjust your bookmarks, yadda, yadda, yadda.

P.S. my gallery should also be pegged to gallery.ohyeahpaulchin.com but it’s gonna take a while, apparently, to get that sorted.

Free Receipt Sketches: UPDATE

The project seems to be going well.  I gave away two today (at once) and even had a disappointed customer who came in prepared with today’s password and everything (“Darjeeling gets me on the ceiling”)!  She decided that rather than take one today, she’ll come in tomorrow as my shift starts and swoop in to claim it, immediately.

I even had a customer ask about getting it done on a t-shirt before I came in.  My coworker had no idea what to tell her so I hope she comes back tomorrow while I’m on or someone at least takes a number/gives her my contact details.

This is what I like to see in my craft: positive response.

Tomorrow’s password: “First Mate on deck, Captain”
