Last night, I was fortunate enough to be in attendance of a panel discussion on various topics regarding hip-hop, held at Ryerson University.  On the panel were Toronto names like Masia One, (The Kid) Famous, Progress, Humble the Poet, (Erik) Flowchild and Phoenix.  It was definitely a good chat and the first time, since I’ve been in Toronto, that I’ve actually been surrounded by actual hip-hop heads!  Seriously, I need to hang out with more Ryerson kids because clearly that’s where it’s at.  If I ever want my fix of indie rock and experimental electro, OCAD will do fine.  But it’s super embarrassing how little respect hip-hop actually gets there.  I’m like a novelty act, really.  Oh well.
