On Final Cut Pro and Music Video Revelations.
In an hour or so, I’ll be premiering my very first music video. I’m a little nervous about it because because we had a few hiccups and encountered a few problems we weren’t able to resolve. As a result, we had to come up with alternate solutions that we’re exactly in keeping with my “artisic vision” (corny alert).
Also, Final Cut Pro was giving Rhian and I a hard time. He’s a photographer and I’m an illustrator and a musician so in no way, shape or form are we qualified to be editing our own videos. Still, we managed to get through it. We’ve also learnt a lot about our “method” and come up with a few rules:
- We’re never taking on a project that’s going to be dragged out for months, again.
- The next music video is going to be EXTRA light on narrative and extra bodies.
- We’re paying someone to take on post-processing of raw clips and footage.
I must express my utmost gratitude to everyone who came out and helped with this endeavour! All things considered, I’m pretty proud of the result considering it cost of a grand total of about $20 and, literally, whatever we found in my trunk. Watch this space for linkage to the final product!
