On Final Cut Pro and Music Video Revelations.

In an hour or so, I’ll be premiering my very first music video.  I’m a little nervous about it because because we had a few hiccups and encountered a few problems we weren’t able to resolve.  As a result, we had to come up with alternate solutions that we’re exactly in keeping with my “artisic vision” (corny alert).

Also, Final Cut Pro was giving Rhian and I a hard time.  He’s a photographer and I’m an illustrator and a musician so in no way, shape or form are we qualified to be editing our own videos.  Still, we managed to get through it.  We’ve also learnt a lot about our “method” and come up with a few rules:

  1. We’re never taking on a project that’s going to be dragged out for months, again.
  2. The next music video is going to be EXTRA light on narrative and extra bodies.
  3. We’re paying someone to take on post-processing of raw clips and footage.

I must express my utmost gratitude to everyone who came out and helped with this endeavour!  All things considered, I’m pretty proud of the result considering it cost of a grand total of about $20 and, literally, whatever we found in my trunk.  Watch this space for linkage to the final product!
