Stupid Pet Peeve: #3062
When people refer to the plural of octopus as octopi. Now I know this is acceptable in American English but the fact is, octopus isn’t from Latin but from the Greek, oktṓpous, which is pluralised as oktṓpodes. That would make that actual plural form, in English, octopodes or octopuses.
The actual Latin word for octopus is polypus and the pluralised form would be polypi. True story.

Today, for my two month anniversary, my boyfriend surprised me with a “present”. He then lifted his pant leg. He had carved my initials into his leg with a knife. FML
I knew a girl in high school who did this (with a hot needle) for her boyfriend. She was kinda crazy and that relationship was full of ups and downs from the get-go but I hear they’re still together.

Today, I am sitting in my flat, which has very thin walls. My flatmate decided to practice her recorder (i.e., the annoying, plastic flute from hell). I haven’t heard a recorder for at least 12 years. If you’ve ever heard one before, you’ll know that hearing it again now is way, WAY too soon. FML

I just finished “applying” the decals I bought on ebay to my guitar. Lessons for next time:
Clear-backed decals are not like vinyls where everything but the illustration is clear. No, there’s a high level of transparency on those. They work best with white guitars and are hardly visible on red ones like mind.
Buy a white guitar next time.
Try to avoid decals...
